.925 Sterling Silver Nickel
Is this final fantasy viii sterling silver necklace I got a fake?
I bought this product:

it’s supposedly made of silver 925…the black coating is supposed to fade off for a “true antique look.” But so far in its fading process all its turned is a dull-ish copper/nickel/orangey/kinda-gold color. i was expecting shiny silver /:
is sterling silver ever that color? Has anyone else bought the product and is it supposed to turn this way? Is the orange supposed to fade away as well, then revealing the silver I expected?
Fake…Sterling silver might gray with a little tarnish, but will not do what yours did. It may be just a silver plating…and a thin one at that. What ever it is, it may be a cheap copper base metal and maybe just a tin plating instead of silver.
